Item #6573

Fender Jazzmaster Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1965), made in Fullerton, California, serial # 128817, sunburst lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black hard shell case.

This is a nice example of an "Early CBS" Fender Jazzmaster with a neck dated to November 1965, less than a year after Leo's company had been sold into corporate slavery! Typical period appointments include the very "tight" sunburst finish with a large yellow center and minimal color blending, bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlay, tortoise plastic (not nitro) laminated pickguard and serial number plate with the new large "F" logo. This very good-sounding and playing Jazzmaster, with some playwear but completely unaltered.

Overall length is 41 1/16 in. (104.3 cm.), 14 in. (35.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). A nicely all original 1965 Jazzmaster. There are dings and chips to the finish overall, mostly to the edges with some heavier buckle wear to the back. There is some light tarnish on the metal, some flaking to the "Fender" logo and wear to the pickup covers but no repairs or alterations. A very good playing and sounding example, complete with the original black HSC. Excellent - Condition.
