Item #4205

Fender Jazzmaster Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1964), made in Fullerton, California, sunburst lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original blond tolex hard shell case.

This is a nice completely original example of a late pre-CBS Fender Jazzmaster, built less than a year before Leo's company was sold into corporate slavery! The neck is dated May 1964; appointments include a fairly subtle sunburst finish but with less color blending than a couple of years before, thin rosewood fingerboard with clay dot inlay, tortoise nitrocellulose laminated pickguard, and early L-series serial number. '64 was great year for Fender, and this is a really good playing and fine-sounding Jazzmaster, complete with original blonde Tolex case.

Overall length is 41 in. (104.1 cm.), 14 in. (35.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

All original (down to the last screw!) with a decent amount of play wear but no damage or repair. Large belt buckle area of missing finish on the back, numerous small dings and chips (some filled on face and edge), but overall a nice looking guitar. Original frets taken down somewhat but still quite playable; a good pre-CBS Jazzmaster with plenty of character! Very Good + Condition.
