Item #2603
Fender Jazz Bass Model Solid Body Electric Bass Guitar (1965), made in Fullerton, California, sunburst lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, black tolex original hard shell case.
A very early-CBS era jazz bass, definitely played but all original and and well-preserved. Pearl dot rosewood fingerboard (no binding), transition gold logo, vibrant sunburst finish, and great brightly-colored tortoise plastic pickguard. Includes all covers, fingerrest, etc. Neck dated FEB 65.
Very lightweight and extremely resonant, a great player with the brighter tone typical of '65s and '66s.
Overall length is 46 in. (116.8 cm.), 13 1/2 in. (34.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) deep. Scale length is 34 in. (864 mm.).
All original conditionexcept possibly the coverplate screws. Average edgewear and and some pick scratching, but overall the finish is very attractive with no large areas of damage. A small chip of rosewood is missing from the area above the nut under the G string. The bass has been well-played but not abused and is a great example from this era.
Complete with the original 'no logo' red/orange-lined case; structurally fine with some damage to the leather ends, and a taped handle. Excellent Condition.
