Fender Jazz Bass JB-62 Model Solid Body Electric Bass Guitar (1998), made in Japan, serial # O 066011, sunburst finish, hardwood body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, black gig bag case.
This model is a generally accurate older Fender Japan 1962-style Jazz Bass reissue, in the classic 3-tone sunburst finish but not fitted with the period-specific chrome covers or plastic fingerrest of the original BUT with the period correct copper ground strip running from the bridge to the rear pickup cavity. This is one of the most consistently solid Fender Japan creations (the Jazz Bass is a particularly beloved instrument in Japan) and there are always good players and an excellent bargain in a traditional-styled Fender bass.
Overall length is 46 1/2 in. (118.1 cm.), 14 in. (35.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 34 in. (864 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/2 in. (38 mm.).
The bass has been played over the last 25+ years, but remains all original with some dings, dents, light corrosion to the metal parts but no really heavy wear. These are fine playing and sounding basses, a nice iteration of this classic design and easily the equal of some later and pricier re-issues. It includes a modern gig bag. Overall Excellent - Condition.
