Item #4592
Fender Duo-Sonic Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1964), made in Fullerton, California, white lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original hard shell case.
This is the final version of the original style Fender Duo-Sonic, the company's two-pickup student guitar. By the middle of 1964 this model would be re-styled to match the new "Mustang", with a slightly different body and altered switching and cosmetics. This late "Pre-CBS" guitar's with clay dot fingerboard neck is dated Feb.64. The appointments include white body finish with a red tortoise celluloid pickguard, two white-covered pickups with an old-style 3-way toggle. A neat example of a rare Duo-Sonic variant.
Overall length is 37 5/8 in. (95.6 cm.), 12 1/4 in. (31.1 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 22 1/2 in. (572 mm.). Width of nut is 1 9/16 in. (40 mm.). A nice example with average play wear; lots of small dings and chips-knobs are repros but all other electronics, hardware original. A good sounding old 3/4 Fender with a funky vibe. Very Good + Condition.
