Item #5921

Fender Dimension IV Sound Expander Model Echo Effect, c. 1969, made in Los Angeles, serial # 004279, Black Tolex finish. The Dimension iv Sound Expander was part of Fender's late 1960's attempt to break into the effects market. Alongside the Orchestration + Voicing Multiplier, Soundette and The Special Effects Center, The Dimension iv was short lived and soon forgotten. Not so for the folks here at Retrofret. The Dimension iv was built and designed for Fender by TelRay and produces sound in much the same way as the Morley EVO-1 by use of an oil can filled with a mysterious fluid (UCON B-65.) Unlike the EVO-1, the Dimension iv has a single speed motor, and no onboard power. The effect works by being routed with rca cables into the reverb channel of a Fender amplifier (where the reverb potentiometer controls the amount of the effect.) This is a very interesting, functioning relic from a bygone, far eerier time.

Height is 6 in. (15.2 cm.), 8 1/2 in. (21.6 cm.) width, and 6 1/4 in. (15.9 cm.) deep. Excellent + Condition.
