Fender Deluxe Model 5C3 Model Tube Amplifier (1954), made in Fullerton, California, serial # 1906, tweed fabric covering finish.

Height is 16 in. (40.6 cm.), 18 in. (45.7 cm.) width, and 7 1/4 in. (18.4 cm.) deep. With some small scuffing to the tweed covering here and there, we'll give this one an "Excellent +" rating but really this is as close to a near mint early Fender amp as we have handled in many years, definitely in the 98th percentile. This amp with a tube chart dating it to April 1954 is *Completely* unaltered, save for the hard rubber plug on the original cord which had to be replaced as it had rotted away. (it's in a baggie in the back). NOTHING else changed, this amp still has the original tubes, transformers, caps, resistors, Jensen speaker (36th week of 1952), pots (dated to 45th week of 1953) et. Al. We rarely come upon any Fender amp this old that has never been heavily used or altered at all, and while it might be happy with a few internal tweaks (many of the internal components had a shelf life that was officially over when Lyndon Johnson was in the White House) we have elected to leave it untouched in its original glory. As it stands this amp works fine and still sounds fantastic, with a raging snarl at volume, and a nice twang at low levels. Truly a spectacular find, as time moves along and the 1950's fade ever farther into the mists of history a piece like this is as close to the sound of 1954 as we're likely to experience again. Includes the original cover, also super clean with some small marks and spots. Excellent + Condition.
