Item #9234

Fender Champ-Amp 5F1 Model Tube Amplifier (1961), made in Fullerton, California, serial # C-15586, tweed fabric covering finish.

Height is 12 in. (30.5 cm.), 13 1/2 in. (34.3 cm.) width, and 8 in. (20.3 cm.) deep.

This is a nicely original later model tweed Fender Champ from the beginning of 1961, just maintenanced and sounding great. It has a tube-chart stamp "KA" dating assembly to January 1961 and retains the original transformers and Oxford speaker dated the 46th week of 1960. The power transformer code is 606-048, the output transformer 606-044.

Recent service included adding a grounded plug, cleaning sockets, jacks, and plugs, doing a full cap job, and re-biasing to spec. with new tubes. No circuit changes have been made. Externally the tweed is only fairly lightly worn; the control plate is not heavily worn, and the screened graphics are crisp as well. The original leather handle is still intact. Yet another great-sounding tweed Champ, a perennial favorite amp -- small in size but a monster in tone! Excellent Condition.
