Item #8040
Fender Champ-Amp 5F1 Model Tube Amplifier (1959), made in Fullerton, California, tweed fabric covering finish.
Height is 12 in. (30.5 cm.), 13 1/2 in. (34.3 cm.) width, and 8 in. (20.3 cm.) deep.
A lovely little unit, with some wear to the tweed but overall still sharp-looking. The 1959 Champ is often considered one of the greatest small amps ever, and this one certainly bears that out. The speaker is original, the tubes period, even the leather handle is still intact; there has been quite a bit of cap work (the originals are included), and the result is a fantastic sound. These late-'50s Champs have a bit more muscle and headroom than the earlier versions, retaining the singing distortion these are loved for when cranked. Excellent - Condition.
