Item #6843

Fender Black and Gold Limited Edition Telecaster Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1982), made in Fullerton, California, black polyester finish, ash body, maple neck, molded plastic hard shell case.

The "Black & Gold" Telecaster is a fairly rare guitar, issued to commemorate the instruments' 30th anniversary in 1981-2. This was one of the last ditch-efforts by the CBS-Fender organization to upgrade the line, coming at the same time as the similar "Precision Special". The instrument is similar to a Standard Tele overall, but has a 6-saddle bridge with a big brass sustain block, gold hardware and a black finish on the body and headstock with a gold decal. A good-sounding and slightly unusual Telecaster variant.

Overall length is 38 5/8 in. (98.1 cm.), 12 3/4 in. (32.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). All original with some average wear and scuffing but no alterations or repair. There are a couple of small filled-in chips on the headstock and some wear to the plating but overall very nice. Excellent Condition.
