Item #4422
Fender Bass VI Model Solid Body Electric Bass Guitar (1962), made in Fullerton, California, sunburst lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, tweed hard shell case.
This is the earliest Fender Bass VI we have ever seen. With a neck date of 2-62, it would be one of the first few batches produced. The early Stratocaster-styled pickups on this version were replaced after about a year with Jaguar units; most players since have considered this a downgrade! This is a great-sounding and playing 6-string bass and a dead ringer for the one Jack Bruce played with the Graham Bond Organisation and early Cream.
Overall length is 44 3/4 in. (113.7 cm.), 14 1/4 in. (36.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 30 in. (762 mm.). Width of nut is 1 9/16 in. (40 mm.).
All original except newer repro tremolo arm; some noticeable finish wear to the body, but no damage or repairs. Overall Very Good + Condition.
