Item #4911
Epiphone Zenith Model Arch Top Acoustic Guitar (1944), made in New York City, serial # 51374, sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; laminated mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black hard shell case.
Overall length is 41 7/8 in. (106.4 cm.), 16 3/8 in. (41.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 3/8 in. (8.6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Some average light wear overall but no areas of notable finish loss, just some small dings and scrapes and some medium checking to the back. The sunburst top finish has aged to a weirdly attractive greenish-black hue; any red annalin color is long since faded away. The guitar is completely solid and there are no cracks or seperations. All the hardware is original (including the wartime-only wooden-crossbar tailpiece and the riveted-gear tuners) except the bridge, which is a new-old-stock Kay piece. The pickguard is gone, having suffered deterioration long ago; there are some marks remaining (including a black streak on the face) to mark its passing. Newly refretted with the correct style wire, an extremely fine player with an absolutely huge sound. Includes a very battered OHSC. Overall Excellent Condition.
