Epiphone Triumph Model Arch Top Acoustic Guitar (1945), made in New York City, serial # 55210, natural lacquer finish, maple back, sides and neck, spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, original brown hard shell case.
Overall length is 42 in. (106.7 cm.), 17 3/16 in. (43.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 3/8 in. (8.6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). A nice original guitar, with some moderate wear to the finish but no major damage or repair. The back seam appears to have been resealed at the top end long ago, and there is a screw hole from a strap button in the heelcap (we could fill this, or re-install a strap button as desired!) All the hardware is original including the Epiphone branded enclosed tuners, adjustable bridge (with a rosewood saddle and maple base) and Frequensator tailpiece, which is one of the few we've seen recently with no metal fatigue at the baseplate. The only thing missing is the pickguard. This guitar has the big chunky tone older Epiphones are renowned for in spades, perfect for a wide range of styles. Just emerged from a neckset and refret, a very fine playing and sounding 17" Epiphone from the tail end of the swing era ready for the 21st Century. Overall Excellent - Condition.
