Epiphone Riviera E-360TD Model Arch Top Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1967), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 064786, sunburst lacquer finish, laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.

The Riviera was the 1960's Epiphone brand equivalent of the very popular ES-335, made in Kalamazoo alongside its Gibson brother throughout the 1960's. The main differences between the models were the Epiphone mounted the brand's proprietary mini-humbucking pickups, with different fingerboard inlay and a narrower headstock. The overall feel is very similar, while sonically the Epiphone has a somewhat brighter character due to its narrower-coil pickups. While never approaching the longtime ubiquity of its Gibson brother, the Rivera was a fairly popular guitar when new and found favor with several major blues players, most notably Otis Rush and Magic Sam (when not wielding a Stratocaster!). This is a lovely sunburst finish example and a versatile, excellent playing guitar for many styles with a nice bright ringing quality to the sound sometimes missing from similar Gibsons from this period.

Overall length is 43 1/2 in. (110.5 cm.), 16 in. (40.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 18 13/16 in. (478 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/2 in. (38 mm.). Very nice condition overall, an excellent player with only some fairly minor wear. There are some parts-related restorations-the original tuners have been refitted; the headstock shows compression rings where something else was fitted at some point but the restoration is very clean. The back of the headstock appears to have a light overspray related to this work. The pickguard is a correct reproduction, down to the "E" epsilon logo. This is a great sounding and playing Riviera, with just some light checking and minor dings and dents to show for its 50 years on the planet! Excellent - Condition.
