Epiphone FT-90 Eldorado Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1966), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 380617, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back, sides and neck, spruce top; rosewood fingerboard.

The Eldorado was Epiphone's equivalent to the Gibson Country-Western model, just above the more celebrated Texan flat-top in the line. It is a square shouldered Dreadnought with a mahogany body and multi-bound spruce top, with a simple tortoise celluloid pickguard. The mahogany neck features a rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlay and the slimmer nut width common to 1965-69 Gibson made guitars. The Eldorado is an oft-overlooked model, one of the nicer Epiphone flat-tops of the 1960's.

Overall length is 42 in. (106.7 cm.), 15 3/4 in. (40 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 5/8 in. (651 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). This guitar is nicely worn in, an excellent player and overall very friendly guitar! There is an old lateral headstock repair on the treble side, a common scar of the period when it was common practice to fit larger-bore tuners. It is now set up with re-issue Kluson Deluxe style pegs of the proper type. The rest of the guitar is original, there is an added strap button at the heel and the bridge was converted from an adjustable to a solid saddle long ago. We just replaced the original warped and lifting plywood bridgeplate with a correct size solid maple repro; the guitar now sounds happier for it! There is wear and checking overall, but no major areas of finish loss except some belt buckle wear on the back. This is a slightly beat but sweet player, very smooth sounding and extremely playable. Overall Very Good + Condition.
