Item #6244
Epiphone Coronet Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1962), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, cherry lacquer finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, original grey chipboard case.
Overall length is 37 1/2 in. (95.2 cm.), 13 in. (33 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/8 in. (3.5 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). A nice and great-playing example of this early fairly Epiphone solid body. The guitar is all original except one strap button is more recent and the vibrato unit has been removed; most players prefer the feel of these guitars strung as a "stoptail" so this is a commonly encountered setup.
There is light wear overall and the cherry finish is somewhat faded, and there is light checking and some minor dings and scrapes. The edges of the pickguard show some slight chipping where the bevel was ground very thin, and one corner is cracked but still attached. This one has an excellent neck angle, great playability and is a great lightweight screamer of a P-90 delivery machine, complete with the original SSC. Overall Excellent - Condition.
