Edgar Monch Classical Guitar (1952), made in Munich, varnish with French polish finish, Brazillian rosewood back and sides, spruce top, Spanish cedar neck with ebony fingerboard, hard shell case.

This fine German-made concert guitar is signed and dated on the label "Edgar Monch Munchen 1952/20". Monch himself was a very well-regarded luthier who emigrated from Munich to Toronto, Canada in 1959 and later trained Jean Larrive, the founder of Larrive guitars.

Summerfield includes Monch on his list of the world's finest guitar makers since 1800. Early in John Williams' career, his instrument of choice was a Monch. This fine example of Monch's work in Germany is in excellent condition and is an excellent sounding instrument.
