Item #14197
Dunlop Fuzz Face Reissue Model Fuzz Effect (1990s), made in Toledo, Ohio, red enamel finish, aluminum.
Here is a play-tested example of one of Dunlop's 1990's reissues of their classic Fuzz Face, this one featuring a more desirable NKT275 germanium transistor-oriented circuit rather than the silicon transistors that would become the mainstay in later versions. More true to the original tone, these germanium transistors have a smoother, thicker finish that plays well with tube saturation. The circuit is a simple single bypass stomp, a volume knob and a fuzz knob. An affordably priced attempt at the wild and unwieldy fuzz tone a certain Mr. Hendrix cherished so much.
Length is 9 3/8 in. (23.8 cm.), 3 1/2 in. (8.9 cm.) across at the widest point, and 2 3/4 in. (7 cm.) in depth at deepest point.
This reissue is nicely original, looking to be from the latter years of production. The black feet on the bottom are missing, replaced with velcro from pedalboard use (the velcro is covering the serial number as well). We believe the stomp to have been replaced. Very Good + Condition.
