DeArmond Rhythm Chief Model 1100 in Original Box (NOT A REISSUE) Model Archtop Guitar Pickup (1969), made in Toledo, Ohio, chrome finish.
This highest-end Model 1100 version of DeArmond's celebrated Rhythm Chief pickup is distinguished by having adjustable poles allowing string balance adjustment. This fantastic example is in virtually unused condition, still set in the original box with the full "monkey on a stick" mounting equipment and the original felt under the box still intact. It is dated June 17th 1969 on the bottom of the coil, with the small white plastic knobs and mini-jack connector typical of the later '60s.
The chrome shows some very minor shop wear but overall this is a fairly clean pickup, really appearing hardly ever used. The original box is mostly intact with some external wear; the lid was opened into the display position decades ago. The original grey mini-plug cord with molded ends and unfilled-in warranty card are included. This is about as good as it is possible to find 50= years on and of course sounds great, as they all do!
