Item #6012

Danelectro U2 Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1958), made in Neptune, NJ, black lacquer finish, masonite and pine body, poplar neck with rosewood fingerboard, hard shell case.

This black Danelectro Standard is one of the very earliest double-cutaway Danelectro guitars, dating to mid-1958. The direct predecessor the the sought after "Jimmy Page" variation, this earlier model differs only in having rear-mounted controls and a smaller vinyl-backed clear pickguard. With 2 of Danelectro's proprietary "lipstick tube" pickups and stacked tone and volume pots, this is the absolute classic Danno design. A great playing and sounding product of Neptune, NJ and one of the company's enduring classics.
