Silvertone Model #1319 (U-2) Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar, made by Danelectro, c. 1957, made in Neptune, NJ, black finish, masonite and pine body, poplar neck with rosewood fingerboard.
An excellent early example of an American classicthe Danelectro/Sears Silvertone. 1957 was the first year for this definitive design, exactly the same guitar as the Danelectro-branded U-2, except the clear plastic pickguard is unmarked and the headstock has a small "Silvertone" logo instead of the larger vertical "Danelectro".
Equipped with two of the famous "lipstick" pickups, concentric tone and volume controls, and a 3-way select, this is one of the most useful and best-sounding Dann-o's ever made, with a distinctive 'snarly' tone. A great-playing guitar and a cool, affordable icon.
Overall length is 39 in. (99.1 cm.), 13 1/8 in. (33.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) deep. Scale length is 25 in. (635 mm.).
All original except pickup mounting screws; plays and sounds fantastic. Decent amount of wear to the back of the headstock but face pretty clean; vinyl siding intact with a couple of tiny rips.
Plays and sounds great. Excellent Condition.
