Danelectro Silvertone Model 1303L Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1957), made in Neptune, NJ, black lacquer with vinyl edging finish, masonite and pine body, poplar neck with rosewood fingerboard, black chipboard case.

A nice early 1957 example of the classic 1950's Danelectro Silvertone U-2. With two of the celebrated "lipstick" pickups and a concentric tone-and-volume control rig this is a great sounding guitar, and with it's tuxedo black-and-white livery a very sharp looking as well.

Overall length is 39 1/4 in. (99.7 cm.), 13 1/4 in. (33.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 in. (635 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Clean overall with some general wear; mostly to the finish on the back of the neck. There are no repairs or alterations except the underside of the clear plastic pickguard appears to have been lightly sanded giving it an opaque look. (Why? Why did people do this kind of stuff to their guitars??). A very nice playing and sounding example of a Danelectro classic. Excellent - Condition.
