Item #3903
C. F. Martin Style 1 Model Soprano Ukulele (1950s), made in Nazareth, PA, natural lacquer finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, black tolex soft shell case.
A nice 1950s Martin Style 1 uke with the longer headstock, slimmer neck, and "keystone" button Kluson friction tuners typical of the era. A very good-playing and sounding uke.
Overall length is 21 in. (53.3 cm.), 6 11/16 in. (17 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 1/8 in. (5.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 13 1/2 in. (343 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).
Several very tight grain cracks to the back and some wear to the fingerboard in the first position; otherwise a very nice original uke. One tuner is mismatched, but period, probably changed out when fairly new. Overall a nice example. Excellent Condition.
