Item #5786

C. F. Martin Style 1 Model Soprano Ukulele, c. 1924, made in Nazareth, PA, dark mahogany finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard.

Overall length is 20 5/8 in. (52.4 cm.), 6 1/4 in. (15.9 cm.) wide at lower bout. This is a great sounding early Martin uke that is a bit cosmetically challenged-the body received an amateur refinish long ago, so it is a bit scruffy looking but the sound is not affected adversely. There are several repaired back cracks. The neck finish remains original, but there is very thin varnish on most of the fingerboard. The tuners are re-issue 1920's Grover style friction pegs. A very good player, this would make an excellent gigging vintage Martin. Overall Very Good + Condition.
