Item #1510
C. F. Martin Style 1 Model Soprano Ukulele, c. 1918, made in Nazareth, PA, natural varnish finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard,.
Overall length is 20 1/2 in. (52.1 cm.), 6 3/8 in. (16.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 in. (5.1 cm.) in depth at side. Scale length is 13 3/4 in. (349 mm.).
Very fine overall condition. Hardly looks 80+ years old, with only the most minor finish wear. There is an ancient and extremely well-repaired lateral split in the headstock by the wooden tuners, probably where someone overenthusiastically pushed in a peg long ago. This has been pegged and French polished over and is very inconspicuous. There is one small grain crack in the lower back.
