Item #5741
C. F. Martin Style 0 Model Soprano Ukulele, c. 1950's, made in Nazareth, PA, natural mahogany finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood, original chipboard case.
Overall length is 21 in. (53.3 cm.), 6 1/2 in. (16.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 5/16 in. (5.9 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 13 3/4 in. (349 mm.). Width of nut is 1 7/16 in. (36 mm.). A very clean and nicely original uke; the only repairs evident are three old grain cracks sealed on the back with no added finish work. Some checking to the finish but not much wear; there is a cleaned-up spot on the face on the upper bout where it looks like a Dymo tape label was stuck and removed long ago-visible but not distracting. This 1950's Martin is a very good player with a nice even sound. Overall Excellent Condition.
