Item #6556
C. F. Martin Style 0 Model Soprano Ukulele, c. 1925, made in Nazareth, PA, natural mahogany finish, mahogany body and neck; rosewood fingerboard, black chipboard case.
Overall length is 20 1/2 in. (52.1 cm.), 6 3/8 in. (16.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 3/16 in. (5.6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 13 1/2 in. (343 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/8 in. (35 mm.). This old Style 0 remains excellent player with some solid but visible repairs. The top has an area of newer finish below the bridge on the treble side of the lower bout, over an old crack repair. There are several well sealed back cracks and one small area of edge chip repair, solid but still visible and not finished over. This uke is fitted with the new Pohaku tuning pegs which are direct geared replacements for the original wooden violin-style pegs; they allow much easier and more accurate tuning with no modification to the instrument. A very nice player's Martin uke with an excellent sound typical of these 1920's examples. Excellent - Condition.
