Item #9025

C. F. Martin D-28 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1971), made in Nazareth, PA, serial # 281184, natural finish, rosewood back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, original black hard shell case.

Overall length is 41 in. (104.1 cm.), 15 3/4 in. (40 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 15/16 in. (12.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

This is a nice clean original D-28, showing only some very light wear overall, mostly some finish wear to the treble side of the neck. The pickguard has been replaced, as is very common with these; the 1970s black acetate guards have usually shrunk and curled badly by this point. There is one small sealed grain crack on the rosewood back. A strap button has been added to the heel, and the original bridge looks to have been lowered just a bit. Otherwise a very original guitar with a nice well-rounded sound, in the original blue-lined 1960s-style case. Excellent Condition.
