Item #5550

C. F. Martin D-28 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1971), made in Nazareth, PA, serial # 271716, natural finish, rosewood back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, original molded blue plastic hard shell case.

Overall length is 40 3/4 in. (103.5 cm.), 15 3/4 in. (40 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 15/16 in. (12.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). A very clean guitar overall; a very fine playing D-28. There are a few minor issues; there is one small repaired pickguard crack, a long finish check on the top center seam and most notably a slightly crushed-in area on the top edge that has been neatly filled in with lacquer. None of these distract from the feel or character of this guitar which otherwise shows little sign of wear from its 40+ years on Earth. One of the nicer early-'70's Martins we have had. Overall Excellent Condition.
