Item #5578
C. F. Martin D-18 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1966), made in Nazareth, PA, serial # 221982, natural finish, mahogany back, sides and neck; spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.
Overall length is 40 3/4 in. (103.5 cm.), 15 3/4 in. (40 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 15/16 in. (12.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Some wear overall, mostly to the top and back; one long repaired top crack behind the treble side of the bridge well sealed up with some very light overspray. A small patch to a chip on the soundhole edge is visible and there are two very small typical pickguard cracks. The guitar is all original except for an added strap button to the heel and it has had an endpin jack (now removed). This is a very good sounding D-18; powerful, woody-an excellent example of why these are a perennial favorite. Overall Very Good + Condition.
