Item #2971
C. F. Martin D-18 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1952), made in Nazareth, PA, natural lacquer finish, mahogany body and neck, spruce top, Brazillian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, black hard shell case.
A great-sounding and nicely original early 1950's D-18 with the expected big sound. As a recording guitar, these 50's D-18's have a combination of power, clarity, and warmth that's hard to beat.
Overall length is 40 3/4 in. (103.5 cm.), 15 11/16 in. (39.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.).
Average playwear overall. Original bridge and tuners. One very small patched area on the lower side near the endpin; some filled-in pickwear just behind the pickguard. Added strap button to the heel.
Plays and sounds very well. Very Good + Condition.
