Item #665
C. F. Martin C-1 T Model Arch Top Acoustic Tenor Guitar (1934), made in USA, brown sunburst lacquer finish, carved spruce top; mahogany back and sides.
A very nice and fully original Martin mahogany archtop tenor guitar.
Subtle dark sunburst top, bound in black and white. Headstock has old-style decal Martin & Co. logo. "Martin" is engraved in script in the trapeze tailpiece, which wraps the strings over the bar in the 1920's manner. Cello style f-holes. Mahogany back is arched by braces. Grover pancake banjo tuners. Tortoiseshell celluloid floating pickguard, adjustable ebony bridge.
This guitar is 100% original with no repairs and plays perfectly. Sweeter-toned than most other archtop guitars, this is a great instrument for anyone wanting a versatile tenor guitar as well as a fine collectible 1930's Martin.
Overall length is 37 3/8 in. (94.9 cm.), 15 1/8 in. (38.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/4 in. (10.8 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 22 3/4 in. (578 mm.).
Overall excellent condition. Very light pickscratches to top, otherwise minimal playing wear. One small (1.5") grain crack near fingerboard. Neck straight, with a few small dings, almost no fretwear. One long scratch and several small dings in back, finish otherwise very fine.
