C. F. Martin 000-18 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (2017), made in Nazareth, PA, serial # 2087507, natural finish, mahogany back, sides and neck; spruce top, ebony fingerboard, original black hard shell case.

Martin's recent 000-18 "Standard' is a nice evocation of the vintage models at a reasonable price, and a very nice guitar. It features a solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. The satin-finish neck has a Golden Era (GE) Modified Low Oval profile high-performance taper, with a wider nut than the 1940-90's models generally featured. The bridge, bridge pins and fingerboard are ebony, the latter with genuine abalone dot inlays. The cosmetics are enhanced with aging toner on the top, black plastic binding, and a repro tortoise celluloid style pickguard. The headstock is fitted with nickel open gear tuners. This is a nice modern Martin; it makes for a very playable package, well thought out and offering a lot of value for the price.

Overall length is 38 1/4 in. (97.2 cm.), 15 3/16 in. (38.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 in. (10.2 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/4 in. (44 mm.).

Overall this is a very clean guitar showing signs of light use. There are some scuffs and dings to the top around the back edge and a larger spot of finish disturbance on the center of the back either from reaction to vinyl or an errant attempt at touch up, in any case it is fairly minor. The guitar plays very well and sounds fine, just starting to age in with a bugger, warmer sound than one might expect. It lives in the original HSC. Overall Excellent Condition.
