Item #2198
C. F. Martin 000-18 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1947), made in Nazareth, PA, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back, sides and neck, spruce top, brazillian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, original black hard shell case.
Obviously a long-serving and well played guitar, this just-postwar 000-18 is ready for the next 50 years. Big chunky neck (for a Martin!) fitted with period Kluson openback tuners. Great, very even sound with plenty of volume; excellent for finger- or flatpicking.
Overall length is 39 1/2 in. (100.3 cm.), 15 in. (38.1 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/16 in. (10.3 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.).
Well-worn but solid and a great player. Lots of finish wear (including an area above the soundhole where a sticker or similar application appears to have been removed) but no major cracks or repairs.
Neck set is excellent, and this is a great playing and sounding guitar. Very Good + Condition.
