C. F. Martin 000-18 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1942), made in Nazareth, PA, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black chipboard case.

Overall length is 39 3/4 in. (101 cm.), 15 1/8 in. (38.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/8 in. (10.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

This guitar has some wear overall but remains in a very original state and extremely nice playing condition. There is some pickwear to the top, mostly into but not through the finish. The sides and back has some deeper scratches and scuffs but nothing too severe. The back of the neck has one deep ding behind the 5th fret and some small scrapes, but overall not a lot of wear. The fingerboard has some very light divoting in the area of first couple of frets, the frets themselves have only faint wear and look to have been well dressed sometime back. The bridge is original and appears to have been taken down slightly, there is a very tightly closed pickguard crack in the typical spot that you have to look hard to see.

There is a very small area on the rim on the lower treble bout that appears that to have been dented and repaired with a small overspray-it is around the spot a hole is often found for an old jack but does not appear to have had that function-- it just looks like a small depression in the wood was restored. Overall the guitar is well preserved with no other visible cracks or repairs, or alterations. The original early wartime tuners are still intact and the neck is very straight, still with the original ebony re-inforcement. A superb playing guitar, super responsive with a sparkling sound all its own. Excellent - Condition.
