C. F. Martin 000-18 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1939), made in Nazareth, PA, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.
Overall length is 40 in. (101.6 cm.), 15 1/8 in. (38.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/8 in. (10.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). A well played and great sounding pre-WWII 000; quite a bit of pickwear to the top in the expected places and a large spot of wear where the player's arm rests on the upper bout. Fairly heavy play wear overall, back of the neck down to bare wood. Top center seam resealed, very high quality repro bridge with a later style short saddle, along with a perfect neckset and refret all by Martin guru T.J. Thompson. This guitar is a perfectly dialed in player and one of the most comfortable old Martins imaginable. Overall Very Good + Condition.
