C. F. Martin 00-21 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1947), made in Nazareth, PA, natural lacquer finish, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.

The 00-21 is a bit of an anomaly in Martin history, albeit a charming one! When the rest of the company's guitars were re-cast in 14 fret mode after 1930, the smaller Style 21 instruments were the only hold-overs maintaining the traditional 12-fret pattern. With its wide fingerboard, longer body and slotted headstock, this 1947 00 has more features in common with a 1927 Martin than with its brethren from the year of its construction.

The beautiful straight-grain Brazilian rosewood back and sides mated to typical Style-21 plain trim and the traditional herringbone soundhole inlay make this a beautiful guitar; the exceptionally even and rich sound ensures it a place as great player's tool as well.

Overall length is 38 1/2 in. (97.8 cm.), 14 1/4 in. (36.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/8 in. (10.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 7/8 in. (48 mm.). A superb example; all original with only a small repaired pickguard crack, light handling marks and some pick wear around the south side of the soundhole to show for its 65+ years on Earth. No other repairs or alterations, uncut original bridge, fantastic sound. A rare and beautiful 12-fret Martin! Excellent Condition.
