Item #6314

C. F. Martin 00-18 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1964), made in Nazareth, PA, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black chipboard case.

Overall length is 39 1/4 in. (99.7 cm.), 14 3/8 in. (36.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/8 in. (10.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). A super clean and exceptionally well preserved example of a very early 1964 Martin 00-18, all original and showing very little wear. There only small dings and scrapes with no notable repairs. This particular guitar was built during the last season's production in the old North Street factory, just before Martin opened the large modern factory they have occupied ever since. There has been a very clean neckset (leaving one little clamp scar on the back by the heel) and this guitar plays extremely well, with a sweet and balanced sound. Excellent + Condition.
