Item #6864
C. F. Martin 0-18 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1969), made in Nazareth, PA, serial # 237145, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back, sides and neck; spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.
Overall length is 38 1/2 in. (97.8 cm.), 13 5/8 in. (34.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/4 in. (10.8 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). This is a great playing, fine sounding 0-18 with some previous repair work but not a lot of wear. There is an old heel crack that runs into the rim, solidly repaired but not overfinished or touched up so it is still visible. A strap button has been removed from that area as well, leaving a filled screw hole. There is some noticeable checking to the top finish, the bridge has been reglued and very slightly lowered. There are two minor repaired pickguard cracks, one on either side of the 'guard, that you have to look pretty closely to even notice. This is a very good player's guitar, not too precious to gig out but with no ongoing issues and a lovely sweet mid-rangey voice. Overall Very Good + Condition.
