Item #5901
C. F. Martin 0-18 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1968), made in Nazareth, PA, serial # 237627, natural finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, grey chipboard case.
Overall length is 38 5/8 in. (98.1 cm.), 13 5/8 in. (34.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/8 in. (10.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). A super nice example of a late-'60's small body Martin, very clean with minimal use indicated. There is one old repaired pickguard crack in the typical spot, a small spot of case-lid damage to the spruce down by the lower edge of the top and a small dent in the back binding on the upper bass bout. All are repaired bur visible; other than these there is hardly and play wear and no evidence of any major work. This is an exceptionally fine sounding 0-size guitar for this period, with a richer, more expansive tone than many. These smaller Martins were built in much smaller numbers than Dreadnoughts in the late 1960's, and this is one of the nicest we have ever had.
Excellent Condition.
