Item #4898
C. F. Martin 0-18 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1961), made in Nazareth, PA, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original grey chipboard case.
A small-bodied early 1960's Martin from the time when the larger dreadnoughts are actually more common. At the height of the folk era, D-18's became a more common sight than these previously popular concert size guitars, and production of these little mahogany wonders slowed. This is a wonderful example of a small-body Martin, a 50-year old guitar that feels almost new.
Overall length is 39 in. (99.1 cm.), 13 1/2 in. (34.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/4 in. (10.8 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Super clean overall; some very light playwear and checking but overall superbly preserved. Recent neckset and refret; no other repairs-an excellent player with a lot of sound for a small guitar! Includes the original two-tone soft case. Overall Excellent + Condition.
