C. F. Martin 0-18 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1955), made in Nazareth, PA, serial # 143650, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, black chipboard case.

Overall length is 39 in. (99.1 cm.), 13 1/2 in. (34.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/4 in. (10.8 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/4 in. (44 mm.). This is a great sounding and playing 1950's 0-18; the top has been refinished (or possibly oversprayed) some time ago, and the back, sides and the back of the neck oversprayed. The headstock face still carries the original finish. All the finish work is aged lacquer and very professionally applied, although one eccentricity is that the pickguard and bridge are finished over, and so appear shinier than normal! There appears to be a small spliced piece of spruce to the top, on the edge of the upper bass bout-the work (inside and out) is so neat is's hardly noticeable. There is also a very small fill by the binding on the edge of the top on the lower treble bout-once again you have to look pretty hard to notice. All the work on the guitar is to a very high standard, and everything else appears original, including the openback metal-button Waverly tuners. This is a fabulous gigging 0-18, bright and full sounding and very easy to play. Excellent - Condition.
