Item #5127
C. F. Martin 0-15 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1954), made in Nazareth, PA, serial # 141130, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back and sides and top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black tolex soft shell case.
A fine gigging guitar; compact, comfortable and an absolute delight to play. This small-body all-mahogany Martin 0-15 was Martin's least expensive guitar, devoid of ornament but is still built with the company's customary quality and attention to detail. The mahogany top gives a generally tighter tone than spruce, and this is often a benefit today as these guitars amplify extremely well, making excellent stage instruments. Perfect for performing, songwriting or just general use, this 0-15 is a very good bargain in a 50+ year old Martin.
Overall length is 38 1/2 in. (97.8 cm.), 13 1/2 in. (34.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/8 in. (10.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). A really fine playing small-body Martin; overall quite nice with some moisture checking and blushing to the top and back finish around the bottom edge of the neck and fingerboard and the lower end of the body (the guitar likely sat in a slightly damp case at some point). All original finish and hardware, has had a recent neck set with plenty of saddle, a couple of small back cracks sealed up but no other repairs. A very good sounding guitar! Overall Excellent - Condition.
