Item #4471

Brooks 5 String Banjo, c. 2008, oil varnish finish, maple rim, stained walnut neck with ebony fingerboard.

This interesting banjo consists of a 1880's style rim and hardware with a Little Wonder style tone ring. The fretted fingerboard features fancy shaped pearl inlay and the squared-off headstock has a vaguely Fairbanks-esque engraved pearl inlay pattern. The dowel stick bears the name "Brooks" and an inlaid 1936 Mercury Dime. A cool and somewhat unusual looking frailer.

Overall length is 36 in. (91.4 cm.), 12 in. (30.5 cm.) diameter head, and 3 in. (7.6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/16 in. (33 mm.). Appears all original with some signs of use but no damage or repair. Excellent + Condition.
