Boss CS-2 Compression Sustainer Owned and Used by Tom Verlaine Model Compressor Effect (1986), made in Japan, serial # 630200, blue enamel finish.
There are few pedals more recognizable and universally beloved by guitarists than the Boss line of effects pedals: affordable, produced en masse, and offered in a (now) classic array of bright colors. The CS-2 Compression Sustainer is a classic compression pedal, 'compressing' the louder bits of the signal and giving a boost to quieter bits with knobs for dialing in the exact amount of attack and sustain you desire. This pedal features a simple three knob layout that provided more versatility and superior 'attack' control to its predecessor the CS-1; the CS-2 not only now included an 'attack' knob, but also offered a faster attack with the use of a Voltage Control Amplifier or VCA.

This particular CS-2 spent its life as a stage and studio utility of Tom Verlaine, frontman and guitarist of the legendary New York City rock band Television.

Height is 4 3/4 in. (12.1 cm.), 2 1/2 in. (6.4 cm.) width, and 2 1/8 in. (5.4 cm.) .
This pedal is in fully functional condition with some cosmetic wear. The stickers on the back, as well as the plastic ring around the stomp screw and all four knobs, are all firmly in tact. Most wear is simply visible chipping in the paint from stage and studio use by Mr. Verlaine. This pedal does not come with a box, but it does come with a letter of authenticity signed by Patrick Derivaz, Verlaine's close friend and long time musical collaborator from whom we received the pedal. Very Good + Condition.
