Bacon Style B Model 5 String Banjo (1923), made in Groton CT, serial # 10586, natural varnish finish, laminated maple rim and neck, ebonized fingerboard, brown chipboard case.

Overall length is 36 1/4 in. (92.1 cm.), 11 in. (27.9 cm.) diameter head, and 2 7/8 in. (7.3 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 26 in. (660 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/4 in. (32 mm.). This banjo is in superb original condition; the only alteration is a newer No-Knot style tailpiece. The finish is very clean with only light wear; the frets have some wear but remain completely playable and there are some divots in the fingerboard. Set up with an elite head, the sound is warm and ringing with plenty of character. Overall this is a very finely-made old-time banjo, compatible in quality to a Vega Senator or Regent with an interesting character of its own. Overall Excellent Condition.
