Bacon & Day Special #2 Model Plectrum Banjo, c. 1938, made in Groton CT, brown lacquer finish, maple neck and rim, ebony fingerboard, black tolex original hard shell case.
A very nice Plectrum Banjo from Bacon & Day, very similar to a Silverbell #1 but with somewhat simpler fittings. Includes the original Bacon hangtag, which has the bottom half (where the price was written) torn off.
Overall length is 36 1/2 in. (92.7 cm.), 11 in. (27.9 cm.) diameter head, and 3 3/4 in. (9.5 cm.) deep. Scale length is 26 in. (660 mm.).
Clean and all original, set up with an older skin head. Minor finish and plating wear overall, but very well-preserved. Excellent Condition.
