Equipped with the early post-war version of the famed horseshoe-magnet pickup, it is also a great-sounding steel guitar. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eMetal-body Rickenbackers in general have a small amount of natural body resonance which gives them a slight natural \"reverb\" effect compared to the dryer sounding Bakelite steels. This results in a 'ghostlier' tone with a bit less clarity but more overtones. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis Model G features gold-plated Kluson Deluxe tuners with gold sparkle plastic buttons, a gold-backed Lucite fingerboard and heavily gold-plated tailpiece, pickup housing, and hinged headstock cover. The knobs are see-through clear Lucite. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis is a steel guitar worthy of the Liberace orchestra and a great playable piece of 1950's California design.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOverall length is 29 3\/4 in. (75.6 cm.), 9 1\/4 in. (23.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3\/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 22 1\/2 in. (572 mm.). Width of nut is 2 1\/4 in. (57 mm.). \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eVery nice condition overall; one localized spot of plating wear to headstock cover, otherwise not very much wear. Pickup lovingly rewound to original spec by the esteemed Jason Lollar, guru of all things horseshoe-magnet. Some carpet-like material to the back that is probably not original, but useful, so we have left it in place. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eA nice example of a rare Rickenbacker.
