This is a brass-bodied guitar with rolled-edge F-holes, variation #6 as per the Brozman book with the sandblasted pattern featuring double palm trees and numerous clouds in the starry sky! The sunburst finished maple neck has a single-bound rosewood fingerboard with the later 9-dot inlay and the "ivory" grain in the binding running the wrong waytypical of National in this era!

The neck is now a 14-fret design with a deeper contour and arched rosewood fingerboard. The solid headstock has an inset pearl celluloid piece with an engraved National logo. The resonator coverplate is the later type with small diamond cut-outs, nicknamed the "Chicken feet" design by collectors. This is the Style 0 variant known as the "Dire Straits" model, due to use by Mark Knopfler in the 1980's and the iconic appearance of one on the band's "Brothers in Arms" album cover. Some National aficionados consider this version the ultimate Style 0, while others prefer the original 12-fret series. We think that both versions can sound great, and this is a particularly nice player.

Overall length is 38 in. (96.5 cm.), 14 in. (35.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 3/8 in. (8.6 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 in. (635 mm.). Width of nut is 1 13/16 in. (46 mm.). This guitar remains in nicely original condition with all original parts (including tuners, cone, biscuit and tailpiece) but some general wear. There is some scuffing and scratching into the plating, more on the back than front-there is some fairly heavy scratching on the back-and some typical plating wear from play overall. The neck shows some dings and scuffing (a couple of deep dinge are into the wood) but no major wear areas through the finish. This guitar has just emerged from a neckset and refret, and is an excellent player with a lovely sound, equally suited for Delta Blues or the more modern styles. Overall Very Good + Condition.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0672/8702/3756/files/01_12baa7b9-03ad-48bb-90ed-3a547995564e.jpg?v=1774330671
