These pre-war National\/Dobro amps are very well-designed and neatly made. This one still has its original National\/Dobro branded field-coil speaker and a mix of original and recent (power) tubes; a 3-prong cord has been fitted for safety. There are several small holes drilled on the left-hand side of the control panel (one filled in) that don't seem to serve any purpose -- we can't tell what someone was thinking here! The handle is a heavier-duty replacement; there is some average wear and staining to the tweed covering, and the National logo plate on the face is somewhat scuffed up. Overall a funky, cool, pre-war amp with rip-roaring sound when cranked, great for either guitar or blues harp.
